I hadn't seen anything on this, so thought I would put it out for others.

I was having trouble sourcing a MidShift kit a couple years ago. Seems Tremec is (was?) more interested in OEM, and would manufacturer the kits on their schedule, not when a few were wanted.

I flipped the shifter and gained a couple inches, with my slightly angled shifter it is about perfect.

Pictures not loading correctly. I will add more when home. Above is my arm in 2nd gear on the TKO 600.

I did the same thing on my Mk4 Roadster build. With a ********** 427 shifter it's just about perfect. With the right shift lever, I agree it's a good alternative to the mid-shift mod.

Even with the kickey seats and the side bolsters, just right.

Forte makes his own mid shift adapter plate shifter kit. This was 8 years ago. Hard to believe you could not find one.

I also flipped the stock shifter around on a TKO600. I then used one of Fortes 2 1/4" dogleg Mustang shifters (reversed with the dogleg forward) and machined an adapter block to move the dogleg shifter forward one inch. Ball winds up being within a 1/2" of where it would be with a midshifter with a straight stick.
