We’ve been working with the guys from Hot Rod Magazine on a special limited edition Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod. We’ve also been fortunate to have the help of some great sponsor suppliers to assemble a truly high-end package of performance parts for this special car. Here are some pictures of the car and a link to Hot Rod Magazine studio photographer releases. Click here to see Hot Rod Magazine’s photos of the Factory Five ’33. The Factory Five forum owner Dave Hodgkins’ son Grant took this killer photo of the special edition Hot Rod at the end of the day.

Grant caught this unique angle of the car as well.

Looks awesome. Who did those headers?

The heaers were custom made by a buddy of Bob tasca at the now-defunct Tascas Mod shop. They flow well, but at the leevl this engine is putting out power, likely still a tad tight! We dyno'd the engine at 488 rwhp and 452 lb ft torque. It should be a bit higher but driving it brought me to the lord, so wer're thinking we dont have to re-do the headers! Dave

The special edition '33 is a great looking car! They did a really nice job with all of the details to make it a pretty special car.

It will be interesting to see how the roll-out goes.

Really nice job!

Regards,

Steve

With that kind of RW power did you beef up the banana bracket or stiffen the frame anywhere?
Spreader bar and gussets under the firewall etc?
I seem to recall a mention of 500HP being the limit for the 33 chassis but never saw any details as to why
Cool car

HI Dale,

The only section of the frame that we modified was the pedal box mount, as we used floor mounted pedals in this car. Otherwise, there was no modification done to the 3-link bracket, and no modifications to the firewall steel area.

Thank You

Dan
Maybe the 500hp chassis limit was a RWHP #?

Floor mounted pedals are an interesting change. Can you share more on that maybe even a picture sans body.
That might be a good way to make room for a small booster under the dash for those of us who want a bit more
street friendly version of the 33
