Had some time to spend on the car today so attacked several different items.

I started with the rear spoiler. I had previously cut the flange to 3/4" but it was uneven so I went down to 5/8". Used a steel compass to trace the 5/8" measurement all around. In order to cut it down I mounted my belt sander sideways in my vice and this allowed me take it down in a controlled matter.

I first measured the center of the spoiler and the car, then used clamps to put it on. It appeared that the outer flanges where thicker then the rest of the flange so I sanded that down too. After that the fit was great and I laid out the holes at about 2" spacing.

As you can see with few Cleco's it lays nicely on the car.

Also installed the drivers side door handle.

The door window frames went up as well as the quarter windows.

The quarter windows really show the difference side to side of the body. They are completely different. The door window frames where a PITA with lots of cutting a fernagaling. The driver side ended up short from the rear edge, where the passenger side was cut back a little. I'll probably have to end up shrinking the plexi window inserts a bit.

Then the air scoops where mounted with Cleco's. Not sure if these will become functional for me or not. So for now the body underneath is uncut.

Then for the bad news. My upholstery guy called me, and explained that the processes used in the OEM manufacturing to glue the vinyl to the dash etc. is not available to smaller companies due to government regulations. That means my Chrysler 200 dash top is now defunct:mad:
I guess I'm going to have to make a fiberglass mold and then glass a new one.
Oh well if you stray of the beaten path I guess you have to be ready for things like this!

John:

Looking great so far. Sorry to hear about the dash. Just remember, you still have plan "B", if things don't work out... Spyder dash! Keep posting updates.
