Here's how to post pics in your posts.
I've found the easiest way is upload them to PhotoBucket.com. The nice thing about Photopucket is it puts the image code in for you. Upload the pic then you can just click on IMG Code and it copies the link with the code to place them in your posts. Then just paste using CTRL + V or right click and select paste.
this is what the album pic looks like, you can place the cursor over any pic and the link menu opens to allow you to select the image links.

If you have any questions about other photo hosting sites like Flikr, post them up and I'll help you out

How about getting them from Google Drive or Google Photos?

I didn't either, but I'm not that digitally competent.

Thanks.

Don't know if this has been addresses anywhere on the site in the last 3 years, but this thread still comes up as the first search hit.

To post from google photos:

Got to your photo in google photos
Right click and select "open image in new tab"
Copy the url of the new tab

Select the add photo button for the forum post
Click "from url"
Make sure "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" is selected
Paste URL and click OK

Won't use photobucket ($5/mo.) -- I'll keep looking at the Forum's suggestions for picture posting... -Steve

I use imgur.com, which is free.

I've found the forum image upload tool to be very friendly. Hover your mouse over the icons above the Quick Reply box you are posting in. The third icon from the right will say "Insert Image" when you hover over it with your cursor. Click on it. It brings up a dialogue box with two tabs. You can upload an image that has a specific URL associated with it, or you can choose to upload from your computer. So far I have only used the From Computer tab. On that tab click on "Choose Files". It will open a window where you can navigate to wherever you have your images stored. NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE PHOTOBUCKET, FLICKER, THE FORUM GALLERY OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL STORAGE LOCATION. YOU CAN UPLOAD FROM ANYWHERE, EVEN THE CLOUD. Once you locate the image you want to upload, select it, and click open. The Insert Image dialogue box will reappear showing the name of the file you selected beside the "Choose File" box. Now click on "Upload File" below the "Choose File" box. NOTE: there will be a delay. What a few seconds for the upload to take place. The Insert Image dialogue box will disappear, and the inserted image information will show up in your post. It will look something like this ATTACH=CONFIG]2079[/ATTACH. Now click on the blue icon (far left) above your posting box. The inserted image will switch from a filename to a thumbnail of the image. Double click on it. A dialogue box will appear and you can choose a larger size for your image.
> Make sure the image you are uploading is resized to below 2M and no larger than 2000 x 2000. You can do this very quickly by opening the image in whatever software your device uses. No need for Paint, photoshop, or any other app. Use whatever default app your device uses. Once open, find "resize". Select resize and change the largest dimension to 1900. Save the change. If you want to retain the original image, simple use a new name for the resized image.
> If you don't resize your image to under 2000 pixels on the largest dimension, your images will load rotated 90 degrees. It's a quirk of the forum software.

That's it. Upload from anywhere (even your phone) in seconds. Just make sure you resize your photos so they don't rotate when uploaded.

I am relatively new here but my understanding is you must use the Gallery if you want to upload full size photos into a thread. The forum does not allow for direct insertion (at least I haven't found a way to do it) so I use Google Photos to essentially store my photos then upload to the Gallery and from there upload to my thread. It's a little tedious but it does work. If anyone knows a more direct path I would love to hear it.

Let’s be honest, in soon-to-be 2026, the era of sitting at a computer to do everything is coming to an end. Nearly everything is done by way of mobile device whether phone, tablet, etc. Can’t recall the last time I used my desktop at home or even laptop for that matter (unless tuning). Mobile device is simply too convenient and widely accepted

I first noticed the upside-down image issue when using the forum on a mobile device and initially assumed it might be user error. After seeing other members experience the same behavior and discussing it with someone familiar with web development, it appears to be related to how the site handles image uploads.

When photos are uploaded from an iPhone, EXIF orientation data does not seem to be handled consistently. The same image may display correctly in one upload and rotated in another, which suggests the server may not be normalizing image orientation during processing. Many platforms address this by rotating the image pixels on upload and removing the EXIF orientation flag.

Additionally, when uploading images from mobile devices, the forum will sometimes display attachment code before the image renders. This may indicate that image processing or rendering is not always completing before the page loads.

Normalizing image orientation and ensuring attachments are fully processed prior to rendering would likely resolve both issues and improve usability, particularly for mobile users.

Separately, the text formatting behavior (such as italics inserting visible markup rather than applying formatting directly) makes editing more cumbersome than expected and could potentially be improved for a smoother user experience.

Whoa, Doc76; don't lump us all in your cart. I do 95% of all my computer work at my desktop PC followed by my laptop, then the Android's. If I do take pics/videos from my phone, etc., it's much easier to resize them, shorten them, etc. from my desktop, rather than fiddle with little icons and print. Call me old schooled and I'm not offended. To each their own. You just need to know what you're doing, before you do it. :)

Sorry guys absolutely no intention to offend here.
Exactly my point. If the website were updated to current standards, users wouldn’t need to transfer files to a desktop or work around icon and orientation issues. A photo could be taken in the garage and uploaded directly, as intended.

If we want to keep the Cobra community accessible to future generations, the tools need to be easy to use. Newer users are predominantly mobile-based, and if resources are cumbersome or unintuitive, they’ll simply avoid them.

Modern platforms handle image orientation and uploads seamlessly for a reason—it’s a solved problem with a simple fix. This isn’t about preference; it’s about usability and staying relevant over time.
A background in continuous improvement is a curse ;) lol
Cheers

The only PITA that the forum system has is that it won't automatically resize your images for what the software likes and if one dimension is greater than 2000 pixels, your image will rotate 90 degrees when uploaded. other than that it works quickly and easily. No special apps, no saving to the Gallery or Photobucket, or anywhere special. Load from anywhere including the cloud or your phone. Just resize your photo in whatever app your device uses, and follow the steps above in post 8. It takes seconds to do an upload that works every time.

For me personally, using my phone screen to even read the forum is ridiculous. I know the world is heavily already using tiny screens to try to do everything. That doesn't necessarily make them the right tool for every job.
