Halibrand style wheels

I have the Halibrand style wheels. I put one on to see how it looked. When I went to take it back off the inner threaded cone would spin and I had trouble getting the spinner off. Am I missing something?

Are they true pin drive wheels are lug nut mounted wheels with a imitation threaded center?

They are the lug nuts with threaded centers.

No, you're probably not missing anything. This is a commonly reported problem. Suggestions include a little lube on the threads, and lot of guys either glue or pin the cone into the wheels.

Thanks, I'll probably pin it. Just thinking that could be an insult to injury if you have a flat. I can post a picture when it's done.

I pinned the center with an 1/8 in roll pin and notched the rim. Pretty simple.
