2002 WRX sedan with 95,000 miles for 3K Has a seized motor but otherwise in good shape. I can either fix the motor or replace it. Think this would be a good donor?

It bothers me that the engine seized. Extreme neglect, like never changing the oil or something. I guess other parts aren't going to really be affected, so maybe it won't be bad.

That is a great deal. I bought a 2002 with 88k for $3800. It also had a blown engine. Mine had performance upgrades and completely rust free. Excellent for resale of parts. If you plan to upgrade/improve engine performance with internal work, a blown engine is not a deal breaker in my opinion. Engine for WRX is under 1000, trans is 700 to 800, and a rear end is 150. Going prices for used WRX parts is cheap enough that a damaged drivetrain brought back to stock is cheaper than buying a nice car outright. On the other hand if you wait for a kit release these part prices may go up. There are not enough cars being parted out to support both this kit and the Subaru community. It will have to include dismantling whole cars. It happened with the Porsche transaxle for the GTM.

Here is a link to a 2007 WRX in Sacramento that is being parted out for $3K.......seems like a deal.

Not my car.

I'm willing to let mine go but this isn't a budget car. It's is a highly modified WRX with a built STI ej25, gt3076r turbo, JDM 6-speed, and more mods then you can shake a stick at. I basically built it to see how far I could take it and am done with it. Never raced, less than 8k on the drivetrain, everything else is practically new since I have rarely driven the car over the past 3 years. I need to make room for my new mark IV roadster so this thing is going on the chopping block this week:
