Just looking at pictures of #7815 (beautiful car by the way!) and noticed what appears to be some kind of roller on a rivet to lock down the gas cap. When I received mine there was nothing in that position just holes that looked like a bolt should go through to hold it down. Figured I had just lost something so I went to the hardware store and put a shouldered 1/4" stainless bolt in for now. From that picture though it appears some type of a roller should have been riveted in there. Is that correct, meaning I got a bad piece with my kit or did I miss something.

Yes, there should be a roller for the latching mechanism. Sounds like yours is missing something. Picture?

Here's a few pictures with the stainless bolt I installed temporarily.

You are missing the locking mechanism.

Mine came as a complete / assembled unit, nothing to bolt together. Just cut the hole in the body, slide it over the filler tube and tighten the hose clamp, and drill / install the bolts thru the flange. Nothing on the cap to assemble. Did they change vendors?

Mine came as MPTech's did two weeks ago. Nothing to assemble.

That's something that would pass right thru the FFR process as if it is still the same; mine came in a box from a subcontractor for FFR. You need to contact FFR for replacement. WEK.

Yep. Clearly you received a defective part. The cap on FFR's parts website shows the roller you're missing. http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/aston-lemans-gas-cap/ Call them.

I like the "new" design that eliminates the top portion of the oem filler neck. I have an old MK3 kit that's been sitting at 80% done for a while now. May have to upgrade.

Thanks for the info. Will call them tomorrow. Won't be able to drive for a while anyhow, 8-12" of fresh snow coming.
