Just finished installing my remote brake reservoirs using a new stock Mustang M/C and a pair of reproduction Girling canisters from Moss Motors. This was all made possible by Lodestone BilletWorks M/C adapter nipples.

The lines are 14" AN -4 from Pegasus Autoracing and came pre-assembled with the 90 degree ends for use at the cans and straight ends at the M/C. I added 90 degree NPT to AN -4 fittings to the Lodestone adapters to complete the connection.

The backing plate for the cans is just a scrap piece of 1/8" steel plate with a small piece of angle aluminum (3/4") adding support under the chassis tube.

Thanks to Rick (Prophet) for all his help and a great product.

Rick - feel free to use the photos for anyone who is interested in seeing how your adapters work with a stock M/C.

That really looks nice. A nice blend of original and modern.

Since the bottom of the tanks are lower than the top of the MC, did you have any problems bleeding them? Since it's a closed system, I wouldn't think it would be that much of a problem. But, IDK.

Hey Bob... I usually suggest that people either temporarily lift the reservoirs above the top of the MC, pressure bleed, or suction bleed. Once they are bled, there aren't any issues.

What Rick said - I'll pull the cans out of the brackets and hold high when doing the initial bleeding. From then on, the fluid level will be maintained well above the height of the M/C, so should be no problem.

Today's TTT on a past how-to thread from the olden-days.

This master cylinder and reservoir set-up has proven to be very reliable and easy to bleed. Once bled, the cans were filled about 2/3 of the way, leaving plenty of room for fluid expansion due to heat. Also, the adapter nipples that Rick sells have proven to be very reliable with no leaks or issues where they fit into the stock Mustang master cylinder rubber grommets. Also, no issues with heat from the headers, although I have the tubes wrapped below this area and I made some heat shields for them (covered in another old "how-to" that I'll bump in the future).
