Think I have decised to go with 15" rather than 17" wheels. Someone suggested Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R 10 or 12 x 28 on the rear. Surely 28" diameter is too much? A 17" with a 315 is just over 25.5". I'm confused. What is the max width & diameter I can go on the rear with 15's
Thanks!

I just asked Al Beix what rim sizes I need and he sent me a link to FFR that said 9" rear and 8" front. So now I am even more confused. Will the 10x26 and 12x26 fit these rims or do I need 10" & 12" rims?

Approved rim widths for the front (26 x 10) is 7" - 9" thus Al's suggestion of 8" while the rear (26 x 12) is 8" - 10" and Al's suggestion of a 9". just be careful about wheel offset/backspacing. Build manual around page 487 provides recommendations depending on what suspension components you are using in your build.
Not sure if you have ordered them yet but remember the 15" wheels limit brake size options...no 13" front rotors.

I looked at the build manual. I need to determine what year my rear end is.

Hi chop,
I would install the 26X10.00R15LT front on an 8" rim and a 26X12.00R15LT rears on 10" wide rear wheels.
On my Chevelle I'm installing the 26X10.00R15LT front and will try the 26X12.00R15LT for rears. If the 12" wide don't fit I'll install the 26 x 10 on all 4 corners.
I have lots of custom width wheels that will work. I'll try to post some pictures of wheels I think look good with custom offsets. I even have narrowed rear axle housings so you can use deep dish wheels.
Mike.

Thanks Mike.
The FFR supplied wheels are 9" wide (specs here http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/15-vintage-halibrand-replica-wheels/ )
Will the 26 x 12 fit these? I am using a 59.25" rear end.
