View Full Version : Engine for MK 4 - Two Questions

I don't normally second guess myself much, but this decision is throwing me off my game. I am about to have a car with no motor. Now I am even questioning my choice of motor (427 from a small block Ford 351W), not just the engine builder. Please help if you can with these two questions:
For ~ $15,000 (engine and trany)
1. What is the best engine to put in my mostly street, but twice a year track roadster and
2. Who is the best builder of said turnkey engine

I have a 427w in my roadster and love the torque and sound that it produces. That being said, with your budget I would buy the Ford crate Coyote, engine control pack and Tremec transmission. Jegg's has a killer sale on the engine/control pack right now ($7300 in their flyer). Mike Forte or Gordon Levy (both forum supporting vendors) can build you your dream engine for you.

Hi Mark,
I have many different crate engine / transmissions combinations. I also sell 8.8 IRS rearend components & 8.8 straight axle rears either with or without brakes.
