Based on the pics in the manual it looks like the style of attachment on the rack & pinion splines has changed. I'll take a picture later, but, it does not appear I can get full spline engagement with the "adapta" joint that came with my kit. Certainly what I have in my hand would not pass tech inspection at the local oval track. The U-Joint spline only engages the spline below the retention bolt slot and rather than a through bolt uses a set screw. Not robust enough for my steering linkage. Anyone one else run into this?

I noticed this also. I don't think it is real good. Anybody else have a suggestion. Longer joint maybe?

I used a different joint with sanctioned through bolt, but it was not DD style so I made sure both set screws are well seated into drilled indexes on the shaft extending from the supplied u-joint. I may TIG it to the u-joint. I have not found an assembly that I'm happy with for less than $100. Most of the adapters are 3/4" round. Jury still debating this one...

This joint from JEG's has correct length and spline engagement, however it is NOT DD on the joint side so I can't recommend it. Probably fine as long as set screws are embedded in a pilot hole in the DD section, but I will pursue a better option later in the build. I like the split bolt engagement better than the little set screw on the 26 spline shaft.
