I'm using the Smiths gauges (from Nisonger) and was wondering if anyone who has those gauges found it necessary to use any sort of a voltage stabilizer with the fuel gauge to keep the needle from swinging around as the fuel sloshes in the tank.

I'm just in the process of wiring and I have the correct stabilizer from Moss, so now would be the time to put it in. But, it will simplify my wiring if I don't have to use it, so I thought I'd come to you guys first for your experiences.

I used the gauge 'damper' off the Mustang gauge pod with mine and it helps a lot. I used the Mustang sender with my Smiths fuel gauge and he calibration isn't perfect. The gauge sits on full until I'm down to less than 1/2 tank.

Chris,

I'm using a set of Smith electronic gauges I got from Nisonger also. If I remember correctly, I think I asked the same question and was told "no". All my gauges work perfectly with no stabilizer. I really don't see any needle movement with the fuel gauge. When I ordered the gauges from Peter Bayer, I told him I was using a Mustang fuel tank so I think I was sent the appropriate fuel gauge. The needle position seems to be pretty close.
