I'm starting to get my head wrapped around all of the sound dampening/heat insulation options, and I'd like to hear your takes on the Second Skin Roadster Complete Package. http://store.secondskinaudio.com/factory-five-roadster-1/

I read somewhere that it's enough to cover the entire cockpit and trunk in the Damplifier Pro (relatively thick vibration dampener with a foil) AND the Luxury Liner Pro (thick sound deadener). It also comes with some very thick Heat Wave Pro for portions of the foot boxes (heat insulator). I haven't done much shopping, but it seems (relatively) inexpensive at $530.

So, what do people think? I have a few concerns:
First, it adds a little over 100 lbs. Is that noticeable in handling? (I'm thinking not since my use will be just cruising around.)
Second, it seems excessive. Do you really need to put liner in the trunk? I don't plan on stuffing anyone in the trunk. Even if I did, I wouldn't much care about their comfort.
Third, it seems really thick. The roadster is cramped enough as it is (or so I'm told). Is it worth adding the pretty thick Damplifier Pro, the thick Luxury Liner Pro, AND the very thick Luxury Liner Pro to the foot boxes that everyone already complains is too small? (I'm not planning on any foot box mods as I'm not much of a fabricator. I'll have a 351W block.)

I have never used this package. There have been other threads about heat/sound dampening in the past month or so, try a search to find their recommendations. I have always used Fat Mat as I can it it much cheaper than the others, it seems to work great for me.

I doubt whether 100 lbs will make any noticeable difference. It's like having just over half a rather rotund passenger with you!
I plan on using Fat Mat, but sound deadening isn't mega important as I don't plan on using a roof so I will be exposed to the exhaust all the time. I think heat insulation in the footwells is more important to resolve.

I used Damplifier Pro only in the cockpit and trunk. Makes the car solid and eliminates foot box heat.

I used the Thermo-tec stuff and it turns out I actually get cold feet driving it in winter! I used the "Cool It" mylar covered heat mat on the inside of the engine compartment, trans tunnel and footboxes, with a foil/fiberglass mat second layer right around the headers. On the interior side of the footboxes and around the tunnel (under the carpet) I used the acoustical mat (the stick-on rubbery foil covered stuff).

One of the big things to do after the body's on, though, is to shoot door insulating foam, that expanding polyurethane stuff into the gap between the body and the footboxes between the front wheel wells and the doors to seal that gap. I sprayed black bed liner onto the front and rear surfaces of the foam to seal it.

bump - Has no one used the Roadster package? I'd really like to know how much smaller it makes the footboxes.

Bren, you might try the other forum; there was a thread on this topic recently. And, try here: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=toolbar-instant&hl=en&ion=1&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4ADRA_enUS473AW476#hl=en&q=site:+ffcars+second+skin&qscrl=1
