Only a little less than a year behind. My original plan was to have it running by Memorial Day last year as that was the 1st anniversary of me picking up my coupe. You know how these things are and I ended up making more things than I had planned and those I planned took longer. Seems like there is always a snag everytime I make some progress and this was no exception. When I first started bringing the electrical systems up all was looking good so I moved on to the fuel system. Fuel pump cycled like normal but was only building about 25PSI. After reading the instructions it was suggested the pump be mounted lower than the tank and I had mounted it where the original owner had it. So I move it to a better location (wished I done it that way first, much easier) and still no improvement. In order to verify the gauge was working Joe Camire came by with his diagnostic gauge and we hooked it up.
20PSI On the gauge there is a line to check flow and we noticed there were lots of bubbles and not a steady stream so we knew it was sucking air somewhere. We thought the pickup may have dislocated so first order of business was open the fuel cell. When he reached in to find the line I saw him easily turn the pickup line fitting. I tightened that up and we reassembled the cell and instantly fuel pressure was way up there. Actually too high as we had turned the adjustment screw to the extreme. After that was set he asked if it turned over and I said I had bumped it a couple of times but never tried to start. He says give it a shot and boom, there she was. I was expecting to do a little adjustments to get it to light up but it started almost instantly. So this is technically not the 1st start but the second. I didn't run it long as there are no coolant in it and got a few other things to do before getting it up to temp.Well here she is:
