So After working my tail (lights) off to get my rear lights to work properly, I figured out I had a problem with the brake light switch. The switch is constantly engaged.
When taking the switch off I can manually actuate it with no problem.

The pic below shows how the brake plunger meets the pedal. Assuming this is the right way around? (power brake booster)

The bend in the arm is going downward towards the pin on the pedal.

How does the switch itself go on?

This way? Open side to the right

Or this way? Open side to the left

I'm assuming it is installed in this direction since the wiring does not reach to approach from the back side.

Let me know so I can put this to bed please! Pics are always helpfull.

Thank you,

John

Hmm... Mine was a push button switch. When the pedal was up it pushed the button and broke the circuit. When you stepped on the brakes it released the button and completed the circuit.

I still wiring, but when I checked with a multimeter I had a similar issue. My problem was plunger didn't release all the way. I was still in mock up stage, so think I'll have it fixed when finally installed. Pretty sure the switch is Normally Open when not depressed and closed when depressed.
