View Full Version : RF engine harness fuse box
Where is the best place and way to mount the fuse panel and the strip of relays, should be around passenger foot box area with the computer. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I put mine exactly where the Chassis Wiring Harness instruction manual said to; its really the only logical place. Do you have the Chassis Wiring Harness manual? If not, got to FFR's site and search for "Chassis Wiring Harness"; scroll down and download the instructions.

I mounted mine in the side of a glove box. Easy to get at and lockable if needed.

Walt,
If you are using the RF harness it is designed to go with DS mounting of the fuse panel. I am just saying that using a different location may increase the customizing of the harness to accomodate the new location.
Others may chime in on how much you have to do, if anything.
If you do customize, replace the entire circuit if possible; what I mean is do splice in another wire to extend the circuit. The more connections like these increases troubleshooting time and chance of circuit failure.
Just my two cents,
Carl
what I mean is do splice in another wire to extend the circuit.
I think you mean do NOT splice two wires together to extend the circuit. Rather, get a new wire that is long enough. I agree.
Chassis harness is not an issue, the engine harness has a four fuse strip and another strip of four relays these are wired in with computer and the manual doesn't say where in the passenger foot box to place them. I have heater so computer installed on underside of passenger foot box as per the engine harness manual.

Off topic but since this is an RF wiring thread, I was wondering if it is equipped with a scan tool data link connector.

Yes.
