Hey, my trip to FFR says the shortest distance is crossing Boston on the I-93. I would do that around 5-6PM on a Friday night. How's that for a timing.

Is that ok in terms of traffic or should I take a different route like the I-95 before Boston and joining back on the 93 right after?

No rush, this is for April 25th.

Will be bad timing for rush hour. Take RT495 (before you get to Boston) all the way to 195 which is exit 2 (about 65 miles) take first exit off 195 (#21) bear right at lights then 2nd right and you have reached F5R.

Think of Boston as a 6am-10PM traffic jam Monday-Friday
The directions above are good ones. Now RT495 is a BIG half circle( over 100 miles) around Boston but the best bet at that time of day..
Safe trip..

One of the worst traffic experiences I ever had was driving in Boston. There was an underground tunnel that about 10 lanes merged into this tunnel like a giant funnel. Never had been there and I will never drive there again. Take the circle route!!!!

Good luck,

WEK.

I thought so! I am happy I asked the question, I will adjust my route and leave home earlier.

So on a Saturday noon it's ok to cross the 93, though? On my way back up north.

It's always easier with a trailer to do the "loop" It doesn't take much longer and is much better on the nerves
