Anyone else using Virtual Machine to run WinXP inside Win7? I installed it just to see how it works and ended up using it to reinvigorate programs that will not run in Win7. It is pretty cool that you can run both Win7 and XP at the same time and have both opened in separate windows. WOW!

It's nice to know you can do that. All my machines are still running XP but it's getting time to upgrade to a faster system. I don't want to loose ability to use software I currently have on my XP systems.

Although I run Linux natively, I've been running vmware workstation for the last 8 years. I run a XP virtual machine under Linux so that I can run turbotax during tax season as well as Quicken 4 on an virtual Windows'95. And when I am feeling particularly nostalgic, I fire up a virtual DOS machine to play games.

Virtualization is nothing new in fact all of the IBM mainframes have been doing natively since the 70's. Each user runs their own virtual operating system. It's not uncommon to see 10,000+ plus virtual machines running on a mainframe.
