After planning to build a 33 for years, I was planning on going over to F5 during a business trip in a couple of months and ordering the complete kit. I needed that time to clean out enough space in the garage to build it. But things happen for a purpose I guess and last month I came upon a Craig's list add for a partially completed 33 for sale in Daytona Beach. When I called about the add, the cost for the car with a 302, T5, 4:11 posi rear and new wheels and tires was a little less than the kit with options alone! Hard to pass up so I immediately started looking for a place to build it (garage is no where near being cleaned out).

Well I couldn't find a location so I was about to pass on the purchase, when the shop that was building the car for the owner texted me a price reduction! Two days later, I bought the car and contracted with the shop that started the build to finish it in 28 days.

So now with 11 days left on the scheduled build, I am sitting here with mixed emotions, sadness that I won't get to build it myself and excitement that I will have it about 1 1/2 years earlier than if I built it myself.2700427005270062700727008

The first 2 images are the car as I bought it. The next 3 are 2 weeks into the 28 day completion period.

Cool deal! looks like you scored a roll cage also.

The car was being built for the track, not the street when I bought it and had a full roll cage in it. I had the door bars cut out (they still need to clean it up and paint it) as I could get in, but getting out with the door bar was tough and I know my wife would never get in with them there. It also had the F5 column replaced with a race set up with a removable wheel. That is getting changed back too so it is more appropriate for the street.

Well we didn't make the 28 day build deadline. Ran into fitment issues that weren't anticipated and backordered parts. And I keep adding things that weren't in the original plan ;) But it is coming together nicely and Gary of Hot Rod Solutions of Daytona is doing a great job on it and not cutting corners. He hopes to be ready to go to paint by the end of the week.

Still not ready for paint. The braces in the door didn't fit and have to be shortened. One on, one to go. 28145

Congrats !!!! If you find some "play" in the door hinges, I have some bushings that tighten things up.
