After less than 10 miles of test driving the coupe, the driver side boot on the steering rack has already torn in half. The rack does pass extremely close to the left front frame upright. Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution... Also, where do I get a replacement boot....

Thanks

Mike

Yep, both of mine split at the clip. Haven't fixed them, so when someone chimes in with a source I guess I'll have to take care of it.

I can't help if your rack is powered, but for a manual flaming river rack, the boot is Moog K8437

Are the racks FFR supplies in the complete kit from Flaming River???

For a Mustang powered rack try FA8027 from Autozone or item 31169 from Breeze.

To get more clearance for the boots these may help.

The stock bushings tend to put the rack centered between the mount ears. If you install these w/ the thick flange toward the rear, they will move the rack forward about 1/8 inch.
