Can someone show me how they ran the wiring to the License Plate Light?

I've always brought the wires up to the center of the curved trunk bar then drilled a hole in the forward rib of the trunk, added a grommet and fed them in between the layers:

After connecting them at the lamp you can make an aluminum cover for the access hole to finish it off if you like:

I used the hoop rear bumper to mount my plate and light, eliminating the need to cut up the plate or bracket. Had to cover the wire with hose and cut a hole in the body to route to the light. Works fine for me.

I don't have a pic, but I took it into the trunk along the hinge lever then into the thicker part of the lid and grommet the hole. If unpainted you can see the wire through to the access port that Jeff covered with an aluminum plate. Zip tied the wires (in sheath just like Jeff's) to the lever. Keeps everything out of the way.

Lucky,

I did very much the same as Jeff above, although I drilled and routed through the back of the rib in the trunk lid. I also did not use a grommet - I drilled a small enough hole that I could just compress the wire loom a bit and push it into the opening far enough to hold it firmly in place. Because it is in the back of the seam, it is not really seen.

I also made a cover plate for the opening, but chose to cover it with the same vinyl I had used on my dash, boots, etc, etc. I know a lot of guys paint them to match the car - really your choice. This is just how I did it.

Hope this helps.

I drilled the hole in the backside of the rib, right above the hinge and installed a grommet.
I'm running the wire in some braided loom and zip-tying it to the hinge to keep it out of the way and less obvious.
