Door Liners: Updated Spacers?

Has anyone heard anything about any sort of update with the new door liners? With my original inventory sheet, I got 1.5" plastic spacers to mount my door handle inside my door liner. Well, if I use these spacers, here's what I get:

A pretty sizable gap between the handle trim and the door liner... Also, the picture of said spacers in update 1H shows them to be aluminum. Anyone have the aluminum ones? If so, what's the thickness of them?

measure your gap and trim the spacers the same amount to get a perfect fit. I made a stand off out of 1/16 steel sheet bent into a U with mounting tabs so the door handle had something flat to lay on. I trimmed the plastic hooks off the back of the handle to have a flat surface.

Show more pics, mine fit pretty nicely, maybe yours is different idk.
