7486 is now registered and on the road, but the engine isn't running right. The engine stumbles around 2,000 - 2,500 rpm but runs fine at other rpms. Also it occasionally stalls when I'm at a stop light etc. The Coyote is controlled by an on-board computer, and I've heard that changing the location of the air-mass sensor and O2 sensors from the stock position confuses the computer and requires a new software tune to fix this. I'd appreciate hearing from folks who've installed the Coyote about whether they had similar problems and if so how they fixed them. (I moved the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator to a port near the front of the engine already).

Your options are either a new tune, add the Coyote speed dial, or both. Search the Coyote forum as I believe some mail order tuners were mentioned.

JMS Chip & Performance in Mississippi has been recommended as a source for a new tune. You will find info that you will not need a speed dial with this tune. I also spoke with Ford racing last year and they said that the new ECU's had been reprogrammed to eliminate this problem. Follow Clemson's advice and search both forums. There are many posts on this issue. FYI, although I have a 2013 crate motor/ECU, I will be ordering a performance tune and SCT tuner(I-pad compatible) in the next week. Looking to go-cart in early April.

I also gave Ford Racing a pre-emptive call last year about the need for the Speed Dial kit addition/stalling issue. They said the issue had been resolved. Not sure what to expect with my 2013 engine. Not sure about here, but lots of info on this issue on the other forum: Search "Coyote stall" in the Modular section of the forum. I'm not ready for first start yet, so can't comment.
Anyone with a recently built Coyote engine that does not have performance issues, i.e. no tune required?

I bought my Coyote in April of 2013 and based on my initial go-kart drives it definitely has the stall issue. I did not install the speed dial unit as I am out of space behind the dash. I don't detect a stumble at 2000rmp but then again I haven't been out of 2nd gear.
My plan was to have JMS tune it to address the stalling issue. Haven't done it yet though, figured I would wait until the car was completed and registered.
It is my belief that when Ford says that its been resolved they mean that you have installed the speed dial.

Ford Racing no longer sells the Speed Dial kit M-4209ADPT-AC. Site says "no longer available".
