The famed San Clemente DMV, which has helped quite a few of us in So-Cal with our SB100 registrations is closed for remodeling.

Where in LA/OC should I go that has knowledgeable staff?

Help!

Any of the DMV's should be able to get you started David. When we were all scrambling to get SPCNS numbers years ago San C. was the place because they were so well organized as opposed to the rest of them. Now, since Boyd Coddington and all those other pro builders are not gobbling up numbers to register previously illegally registered vehicles, the numbers are not so scarce. I would just go to your local DMV, but be prepared to wait, and have infinite patients.

I got my sequence number for this year (car's not finished) from the San Pedro DMV on January 2. The lady who manages this office has apparently done this a number of times. And it was easy to schedule an appointment.

Dave, just found out that our local Temecula DMV is also closing for six months soon for renovation. They were great when I went through the SPCN process. Start calling the next closest DMV offices in Orange County. Jim

I live near the San Clemente location-that is the slowest RENOV I have ever seen, it's like the state is giving them a Temp layoff. They even have "black-out" days now, so check their schedule.
They did a Renov about 10 years ago. Went from UGH ! to YUCK on that.
I think the contractor is related to a legislator.

Has anyone worked with someone at Laguna Woods? I worked with Guy over at San Clemente and I'm betting they were reallocated to other DMVs while the remodel took place. I may swing by San Clemente just to see when it's going to be ready. It says August on the website.
