A friend saw this and I'm considering it. Anyone had any experience with this? Thoughts?

Nolan,

They're pretty cool! SMY sells a kit to do it for the newer WRXs; not sure if they sell for the older ones. I'm sure you could wire something up, though.

I think it would be a nice touch for an 818.

my wife's Mini Cooper S has this feature. It is awesome.
As long as you have the keys in your pocket, you walk up to the car, proximity unlocks the door, you sit in the car, push in the clutch, push the start button and away you go.
For the 818 I was planning to add a push button start, once you put the key in place, but now you have me thinking. This would be better.

I also wonder if you could simplify the steering console. IE remove the key spot or maybe there is a better option that would still allow turn signals and cruise control. Anyone got any ideas??

Love the idea, but this car will nickle and dime us to death. Add it to my future upgrade list.

VCP has a push button start for the 818R in their electrical harness they sale. Maybe Wayne could have a 818S version with street security/digital in mind. Maybe a complete street interior in mind. AIM, and other digital gauges. What else would be needed?
