Im looking for a well documented MK4 build site. One that is using a 3 link rear end, carb engine in a full Kit. Can anyone guide me to one?

The Mk 4 build site is a good basis. You just have to read it for what you need and want. I went 3 link and carb and it's brain dead easy. Manual fuel pump no return line, filter after the pump. I went with a Holley 670 Steet Avenger and a MSD Pro billet distributor and it all worked like a charm. Things like wiring up the fan will give you more greif than the big stuff. See J Kliener post on the Indy 14 build. He has THE fix on the fan issue. Start a build note folder for what you want to do and keep it updated and handy. Someday its gonna be show time. The 3 link goes in like the FFR manual says, you need a 1'2 drill for the 3 link bolt into the 4" tube and thats done. Read up on pinion angle setting.

Gets tough when you're looking for multiple specific items in one place. There are a lot of builds, lots of picture site(just pictures not instruction) less build sites and even less good build sites. However I'm quite confident that you can gather the data you need from the forums or its members. You can then put it all together.

It's not a Mk4 site, but I've found Greg's site to be invaluable.

The good part about the time you have before you get started you will be able to study and sort things out in your mind.

LW, here is a list of sites (URLs) that I have saved for reference. Some are build sites, others are just pictures for reference and they are not in any particular order.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I've often thought it would be cool to have a section of this forum in which people post videos on specific topics and the videos are organized by key areas such as "Suspension", "Painting", etc. I'm learning a lot about IRS setups the long way and I'd love to watch a 10 minute video by someone who has been through the proess of getting donor parts, refurbing them, and installing them. I probably got the idea from watching Dave's video updates on topics like the coupe glass, etc. Text posts have an inherent value, but I'd like to see it augmented by video tutorials. Just my 2 cents.

I don't like typing enough to do a step-by-step blog but maybe you'll find some of my photos &/or information helpful.
