Hi All,

Ok, so as wagons seem to be the cheaper around here, does anyone have a definitive list of the differences? Regarding the rear set up, looking at the specs of the donor, the wagon is around 10mm narrower, is that the main difference? I've seen that this is catered for on the chassis with location holes pre marked, does anyone have a photo of said area for clarification please, I can then find my donor once and for all, fingers crossed!! Thanks all, hope everyone had a good productive weekend!!!....

There are a number of us using wagon donors.
I even believe the green ffr car was a wagon.
The wagon are 10mm per side narrower. Ffr put extra holes in the front to accommodate for this. see attached.
in the back they did not supply extra holes but the shorter lateral links allows for wider tires.
No other issues with a wagon donor.
Wagon seat belt work better.

Here's a pic for visualization. The front has three holes. The right 2 for sedan arms, high for race height, low for street setup. The left, outer hole for wagon arms. The rear mount just has 2 holes (sedan or wagon length ), using spacers to achieve race height. I guess that begs a question. If you want to build an R, and/or use race height is it okay to use the race height (sedan length) holes and make up the width with a lower offset wheel? Or does wagon arms frustrate the use of a race height setup? A question for FFR's brains.

Guys, you don't have your LCA bushing tabs fitted the same way. I know there was a few discussions about this, but does it have anything to do with Wagon vs Sedan?

The tabs in the red circles were mounted incorrectly. I didn't put together that car. That picture is in FFR shop.

To be honest, I'm still not positive which way they go. A discussion came up recently calling that into question, so I called FFR to ask, as did someone else. We each got different answers. Sigh. The book and updates show both. I'm leaving mine for now, and I'll see how tire rub clearance, tire to wheel well centering looks, and highway stability is before changing it. The wing mount wants to fit the way I have it now, and distorts the bushings when flipped. I just don't know. :/

Erik doesn't seem to have any issues, so I'll try to follow what he did.

So with the suspension on the rear of the car, Is all that the same? Or is that also 10mm shorter? Cheers, almost there...

Oh, if you have any photos for the rear mounts also that would be handy.. Thank you...

Just upper and lower holes in the rear. I'm not sure how the rear track width is addressed. Perhaps the rear links are identical?

Wagon vs sedan can confuse some. My 07 was a sedan, but not a wrx, and uses the same mounts as the wagon.

Hi Canadian
Attached is a snapshot out of an o6 manual.
It shows diff between wagon and sedan, but doesn't suggest anything about turbo-NA.

I've been looking at the build manual for the rear set up and there are just top and bottom locations, I presume this shows that the arm lengths are the same but the top and bottom holes are for the 'S' model and the 'R' model heights?... Any thoughts?...

Yes, bottom holes for S, top holes for R. I just don't know about wagon differences here.

Yeah, I have the same question, but I heard that in the wagon setup, the height of the car is the S height, not the R, and as I am building an R, I guess I will not be able to use a wagon.
