I'm curious to know, because even though I like my LS platforms and have built a number of them.
I was just thinking that by the time I'm able to acquire my GTM kit, the LT's will have been out for a while and the LS engines may be retired.
plus with the direct injection and DoD, might make for a rather economical, yet potent GTM.

There are many variables. First is adapter plate, 2nd is size, 3rd is height and oil pan clearance, 4th is the ability to reverse intake manifold, 5th is accessory fitment.......
In other words, lots of unknowns.

I wouldn't worry or think about the LS going into retirement. It's a great platform just like the 327/350 small block, you can still find those around.
Maybe by the time you get to be able to acquire your kit the LT's might be a little more cost effective :)
