Hi and WOW, I can't wait to get started, but I put off delivery till late may. I still need to put power in my new garage, a lift and a useable driveway(about a 100'). I ordered a Type 65' coupe complete kit and started to have questions right a way. Like can I use a new 4.6 L out of a newer mustang?. I want to race with the cobras on the track, is there something I need to do to the frame? I also want the best top speed, what the best rear end ratio I can get?

Welcome, you will have a great time. I have raced a ton of these cars for many years. Please feel free to give me a call and ask questions.

What do you mean by the best top speed? What may give you the highest top speed down a 2 mile stretch is a far cry from what may be appropriate for a particular track. Your max engine rpm and power output need to be known and then what speed you will target at what particular venue. Not to mention your transmission consideration. Cheers.

Roadster guy here, so I don't have personal knowledge of the Coupe. But everything I've seen and read says only small blocks fit into the coupe. FFR says thse same thing on their website. 302-347-351-393-427 etc, but all small block based. Also some LS1's out there, which are similar (narrow) in size. I don't think the newer wide mod motors fit the Coupe. They're a really tight squeeze into the Roadster.
