I looked at those in a magazine recently and really like these. If it could only work on my daily driver which is about 4,000 lbs. They aren't worth it for me if they don't work on all my cars. I'll watch for a slightly beefier gen 2 model.

I asked Robert about this and here is his response....

"The 5000 is still essentially in prototype-phase. We are letting the public know it is coming, but it is still being designed. As it is a newer lift I will not be permitted to sell below MRP for the lift. If anyone wants to talk to me or ask me any questions I will be very eager to speak with them."

As an FYI this lift comes with a 120V AC hydraulic pump, a 12V DC pump is optional for about $500 additional for remote use.

I arranged to obtain the 12V version so mine can be used anywhere, I always have 12V available at my house, even one of those little car booster packs can power this lift, so it can live in my enclosed trailer to go to autocrosses with my shifter kart and my 818S!

Thanks for the info on that! I purchased a used scissor lift on which to build my 818. I have what I need for now, but it is wicked difficult to move. Perhaps this future model will be perfect for me. I'll watch closely now. :)

While obviously not part of this group buy, it looks like they have finally officially announced the 5000lb version.

The manufacturer, who seems to frequent the GarageJournal forum, said the MSRP is $1295 shipped and that they will begin shipping in May. Very tempting.

Has anyone contacted manufacturer yet about a group buy for the 5000 lb version?
If I'm going to invest in something like this, I'd like to be able to lift all the vehicles in my household, just not my WRX or 818.
