Hi Shifty,

Welcome to the forum!

How could you go wrong? relatively new technology, coil on plug, 6 bolt mains (cross bolted). If you go up the LS numbers, of course, you will get more hp but for the 33 with that little engine compartment, I think it would be perfect. I would certainly go that way if and when I build a 33. The roadster had to have a SBF but I love Chevys and that would be a marriage made in heaven. The prices must be reasonable too because I am seeing more and more of them in the local hot rods (not just 33 hot rods). Good luck and let us know what you decide.

WEK.

Not sure the size differences between LS1 ansd LS3 but I am in the process of putting in the LS3. Plenty of room.

I'm using a Keisler RS500. The status on the company is up in the air right now. Too bad because Shafi, The owner, was very helpful and they make nice transmissions. The transmission is pretty small and I can get a fair amount of pedal space in the foot box.

You can also use a Tremec and or GM auto setup without major issues.

Good luck!

They both have the same foot print and almost identical physical dimensions.
