Does FFR allow you to deduct items that you will not use from the "complete kit" purchase price? For instance if I would like to use the Speedhut GPS gauges could I simply not receive the supplied guages and receive sometype of "credit" or deduction off my kit price? As I read through many post on the forum, I have compiled a detailed notebook of items I will be purchasing after the kit arrives that will replace something I have paid for in the "complete kit".

I fully understand the business model behind the complete kit, however I also would be interested in knowing if anyone has been succesful in receiving credit while working with sales during the kit purchase.

I think they will on some things. Keep in mind some of this stuff is preboxed. You might find that the credit is lower than what you might sell the parts for on the forum.

I asked about deleting a couple items from the Base kit and they said no.
But they did substitute a blank dash for the pre-cut.

Like Mike said, you would probably be able to sell the stuff you do not need on the forum or eBay.

Knowing that some of you have had luck selling items on ebay or various forums is good to hear. I do not like clutter or shelves of stuff I paid good money for sitting around. Seeing as the items are new then hopefully I can sell them without too much trouble. Thanks for the quick feedback gentlemen.

I deleted the FFR gauges from the complete kit and got a 599? credit off the price. I also substituted a blank dash for a cut dash. I purchased the Speedhut guages at the black friday sale of 25% off. So basically got the SH gauges for the same price as the upgraded gauges would have been with the kit. I didnt check on anything else.

Just be realistic about what you can sell stuff for. Even though NIB, still is technically used without a warranty. While there are exceptions, expect 50-60% of retail value. I've personally had pretty good luck at that level both selling and buying. I see guys unsuccessfully trying to sell stuff for just slightly less than retail, and even sometimes get upset because they think people are low-balling them.

I did a gauge and seat delete on my HR, and got credit for about what I could have sold them for on eBay without the hassle. One note on deleting parts from the kits, you may inadvertently be deleting some additional parts or hardware that they consider part of that item. For instance, several HR buyers deleted the fuel tank for a Boyd, and did not get a filler neck or gas cap.

Understand your comments completely. Getting something for the items is better than them sitting on my shelf with no logical future use.

Excellent point.

It doesn't hurt to ask FFR. I'm going with power steering and asked them to delete the manual steering rack. No problem they said, and gave me a credit. However, I then needed rack extenders for my new rack, so they happily charged me for those. I still came out a little ahead.
