So OregonDave and myself both have young kids. My daughter is only 18 months but she loves being in the shop with me. She has a little craftsman tool bench with plastic tools and always mimics what I am doing. She also has her own flat screen HD TV in the shop to watch Dora the explorer or leep frog as well.

I want to see how many other dads are on the forum with kids help to work on the car, riding in the car or who knows maybe even washing the car.

Here is a picture of my daughter they day we brought the chassis home from powder coating. We couldn't get her off.

In my case it's my Grandsons who love to see what I'm doing out in the shop..

I am a wee bit nervous with them around the car, so I devote all my attention to them, which of course means no work gets done. They ask some pretty funny questions at times, so I try to coach them as best I can.
I do want them to learn as much as they can about cars, and how they work. One day I hope they will be borrowing tools, asking for advice, and taking me out for cruises in their rods..:D

When I first started looking at the FFR advertisment in KitCar Mag, my Grandson was about 3. He used to look at the Mag with me, then I got him a Cobra Hot Wheel that he used to take it with him everywhere. Now hes 12 and is almost excited as I am about the build!! Im going to get him some coveralls and make sure hes involed with the build. I let him know that when I get to old to enjoy the Roadster (about 90) that its his, now I just pray he doesnt try to bump me off to get the Roadster that much sooner!!!!

Greg, good to see you on the new forum. You've got an interesting build in process so I hope you'll start a build thread or blog or whatever so folks can follow your progress.

Great idea on this thread. I posted a pic of my 2 year old daughter in the newly delivered roadster already so I'll just attach another photo of her washing her own car :-) I don't have a picture of it, but she also washed my white body buck (background) for 2 minutes until that too became boring. 1277

I always tell people that my daughter Abby was the first to drive the car when I pushed it out of the garage for the first time.

Here she is when we took a ride with 20+ other cars up to Wachussette Mountain Mass the day after we got it registered.

She was even in the car the first time it touched 120mph, but we won't talk about that..
