Just joined the forum and plan to get a MK4 project going after some research, and have a ton of questions...

One I have not seen any info on here is for those that go with the racier look and add the circle numbers to the side or trunk and hood or all... Are you painting those on or using a decal that can be removed? I like the look!

Michael,

A lot of guys use the static cling meatballs and sponsor stickers. They are applied with water, and if done properly, will stay at speed. The nice thing about them is they can be removed. I would put mine on for shows or special cruises, and then remove for everyday driving. The thing about the numbers, it can make the car look like a "bad ***", and other times, it's better to blend in. Well, as much as these cars can.
I bought mine from Finish Line.

I run a challenge car so its always trying to go the fastest it can, I have the hood and trunk circles painted on, and the numbers are vinyl (as I have to change numbers every so often when running in different leagues), the side circles are vinyl along with the numbers, no issues, both look good and no issues

I have seen the both painted and static cling. I would go with the static cling until you are sure of the position that you want.

For my side circles, I used guardsmen blue (like the stripes) vinyl circle and then just had the number cut out of the circle and thus used the white of the car for the number so I just one vinyl to put on each side.

That is a really great simple idea Tony. It amazes me sometimes how we complicate unnecessary things.
