Welcome aboard, like the rest looking forward to your future updates.
Thanks Russ. I got the parts from you. They look great and can't wait to get my foot into that accelerator pedal. My car is stuck in Arizona and now not sure of the timing of delivery. Stewart says the truck is broken down. Hopefully this week. I'll post pics upon arrival.

My Coupe will have seen more of this country than I have by the time it is finally delivered. Stewart picked it up February 1st. It go to Arizona in about three days where it has been sitting ever since. They tell me the truck has been broken. It's finally fixed and leaving today with my kit but headed to California, Washington state, Montana and then down to Utah sometime hopefully by the end of next week. Ironically, it likely drove through Utah a mile away from my house on its way from FFR to Arizona to be put on another truck and then a tour around the country. This seems like madness!! I don't think I would use Stewart again.

Don't let that get you down - you will forget all that when the big - and I mean BIG truck gets to your place. Then you'll take 2 days to take inventory. . . . Hopefully your garage is all cleaned out and ready - my garage is still full of junk I need to get rid of so I can work on the car more efficiently - and invite friends over!
Welcome to the madness!
Let us know how you configured it and don't forget pictures - kinda like this:

I suppose you are right. I keep trying to remind myself it's the journey not the destination. It would just be nice to finally get going. Your "bum-per" video is hilarious BTW.

Your journey started the first time you thought about purchasing the kit. This is all part of that journey.

Actually Bill I think the journey started when I started putting together plastic models when I was a kid which then later moved to taking apart Jeeps and putting them back together. It's a sickness; but a really cool one, I think! I will try and be patient while my coupe travels the country for the next week or so.

My kit is now stuck somewhere in a blizzard in northern Montana. Not sure now of the arrival date but four full weeks on a Stewart transport truck for delivery is nuts. Not happy with Stewart at all.

Actually, three weeks with a broken broken truck and now weather. You can't blame weather and I understand things happen. The upside is that my garage is now so clean you can eat off the floor and my tools can't be more organized.

Look at the bright side, at least you didn't have to deal with border issues....certificates, permits, duty, customs, inspection, parts that can't be included in the "kit" and shipping in a crate.
It's all good. Not a bad problem to have.
Keep us posted.

Congrats on the purchase! Sorry to hear about the wait to get your kit but it will be worth it when it arrives. And if your build goes anything like mine there will be more waiting involved. You'll have back ordered parts, parts you never thought you needed and in my case some wrong parts. I'm still without rear control arms and have had my kit since September! But that is a long weird story that I'm sure will have a happy ending. Hold fast and keep us posted!

More waiting, what? I thought I bought a "complete" kit! And, I read from someone selling a really rare barn find of a Cobra that FFR kits just "snap together." Is this not a weekend project? :)
The one thing about the delay is that I have been able to research a lot builds and have some good ideas. The craftsmanship from the guys on this forum is amazing.

Unless you have built one of these before or you are really handy with cars, you will likely need those delays to organize your thoughts as you progress.
In my case, I would use the weekdays to plan what I was going to work on the following weekend. I needed that time to research and plan my next task. I don't think I could have built it much faster than I did without quitting my day job.
Figuring out a suitable build sequence and making sure I didn't forget steps was part of the challenge for me also.
There is always something else you can work on if things are delayed.

I have watched your build - your car is exceptional. That approach is exactly what I did with my last build. The planning and thinking through problems was half the experience. It was like thousands of tiny puzzles that need to be solved and gave me a mental diversion from a stressful law practice. This time I am taking my 15 year old along for the ride in building this car. These are not just cars, they are something greater than that which is why there is this brotherhood among people who build them. Not everyone understands that. My car is supposed to be here sometime today. Time to start the journey!

I am excited for you. The feeling I had on delivery day is still fresh in my mind. Looking forward to following your progress and helping when I can along the way.
