Can't get this out of my head... What if you combined left hand drive with right hand drive...

Aesthetic success can often rest on subtle details...and besides, if it's your car it's your call.

I will say, however, that the aesthetic impact is not so much a matter of personal taste, but it's something you want to consider when making your own call. For what you're suggesting you would probably give the cabin a much more dense presence to it. Passenger and driver share a far more common theme, despite the presence of a steering wheel. The current flat dash gives a sense of expansiveness. So for those who prefer a more cozy feel to their driving space, they'd likely appreciate it more than those who feel like its claustrophobic and tiny to begin with...

Something to think about. Personally, I'd like to see it, especially if you can make a nice waterfall center console out of it.

Without an actual car to see, it's difficult to imagine the scale when cutting and fitting two mirror image together. From just the photos available, it seems that the gauge pods would be almost on top of each other. A waterfall center console might be able to made to compensate. I just thought it would be a complement to the "humps" behind the seats. Plus a large glove box would be nice.

did this quick for you.. not sure what you wanted to put there.

honestly I think it looks awesome. the double hump carries over the whole car. a glove box would fit nice in that spot.

added a shadow and a lock

makes me wonder why FFR didn't do this.. one mold for both drive configurations, just a different cutout program.

Longislandwrx that's great. Thanks! I also thought since the 818 is a "world" car that a dash like this would make production easier, plus the room for the glove box fuses ect.

Wow, that is pretty cool. Seems that storage space is needed in the 818. The glove box would nice and it does match the double hump lines.
Awesome idea, I really like it.

Maybe they will pick up on this idea and do it. Not that it will help those of us who already have kits... :)

I like it allot! I have always been a fan of the symmetrical waterfall/fighter plane cockpit transition from dash to console. It ties everything together nicely. If you were to take the contoured curve where it comes "down" in the center, it appears that (from the pics) you could carry that line nicely down to frame the console in one continuous line on each edge, all the way back to the rear bulkhead.

Here are some VERY rough ideas (sorry folks, I don't have an image editor) :)

Contour Line in red. Personally, I like the idea of body-color thread/piping to "frame" the effect.

Shading added to "remove" beltline for waterfall effect. Could always be left there to create a separation between the top and face of the dash.

Gauges and stereo/switches/climate control/GPS/etc.

I think it looks great - adds a unifying character to the interior while serving a functional purpose. Hard to ask for more. I hope someone ends up doing this even if FFR doesn't pick up on the idea.
