I'm using a mechanical fuel pump on a 390 FE engine. I just started planning the fuel line routing, and needed some ideas to work with. The instructions and pictures in the assembly manual leave a lot to be desired.
Since the mechanical pump is on the drivers side, routing the feed line up the passenger side frame tube would require crossing the engine compartment somehow.
Any ideas and pictures you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Just got my tank in. I did line bending for over 12 years so I hope to remember how to do it. :) I'll post pictures with measurements when I get it done if you still need them. I would suggest getting some garbage lines and practice if you are in a hurry.

My 351 has the line coming up the psgr side main tube and crosses over in front of the engine by coming up over the lengthwise 4 inch tube and along the top of the 4 inch cross tube.

Thanks. I think that sounds like the best plan. Shortest route that keeps it away from most of the heat.

I like this for insulation. just velcros on so can be done at any time. It comes in several sizes.

After I melted a throttle cable several years ago I started putting this on everything that runs over top of the headers. It's hard to avoid those two caverns of heat and they get really hot sitting in traffic while the air flow is low.

I am using a mechanical fuel pump and ran the hard line like Craig.

I am planning a 347, so I ran 3/8 hard line from the kit supplied pick up (short piece of tubing) across the trunk area and down to the 4" on the drivers side and all the way up to about 6" in front of motor mount. I think I have pics posted on the other site under my build thread. Basically followed the Kleiner build methods. My routing was done with 2 pieces of preflared tube so only one union. One thing though, my routing limited my ability to do trunk mods and also could have impacted my brake line routing. So my advice is to think about the brake line and trunk (or other ) mods you make be making.

Great ideas guys, thank you. I think I've got it figured out.
That heat shielding looks like a great idea!

Thanks again!

25962 from the tank, used a straight connector instead of the 90.

25963 went down the 2x3 then down to the outside of the main frame tube.

25964 had some extra line so I made a few jogs at the end.

From what I have read, with the mechanical fuel pump, you eliminate the fuel filter at the tank. I installed mine at first then removed it. Might want to look into that.
