Hello,

I am having some difficulty getting my FFR Speedhut speedo talking to my LS3 powered roadster. I have tried wiring it up a couple of ways but I cannot get the speedo to read anything other than 0.

Is there anyway to test the speedo to make sure it is working correctly? Does it need calibrating before it will read?

I am trying to pull the speed signal from the ECU from pin D in the GM bulkhead connector. I also pull the tacho signal from pin C (with a boost from pin L) and this works fine.

I know that the speed signal into the ECU is working right because I can see the output via my OBDII reader. I am not sure if I can test the output signal from pin D - some advice appreciated.

Currently I have tried wiring it by going direct from pin D to the gauge, with and without an earth, and also from pin D to the gauge with an auxilliary 12V via a 10000 ohm resistor on the input, with and without earth. Nothing seems to work.

The gauge is receiving general power because the odometer displays up with 1.2 kms (not sure why it is that value).

So is there any trick to getting this to work? I know the LS3 is not common in the roadster, but I am hoping the Hotrod or GTM guys might be across this.

Many thanks

So no replies from FFR, guessing they are stumped on this one!!

But I did figure it out with help from the other forum. And it was simple really.

Turns out, the speedo will read 0 until you do a calibration. So it was working all along, it was just reading 0 as I had not done a calibration. Anyway, did a dummy calibration, and it is working fine. Will do a proper calibration when car on the road.

Hope this is of help to others out there, stumped me for a while. The instructions are not clear on any of this.
