Without one of the V8 options, I'd be surprised if a Miata based build would pose a serious challenge, especially with the very limited aero they tend to run.
I'd like to see the results though...

with a Belle Engineering or Flyin Miata turbo set up the Miata's are just as fast and as powerful as an LS1 swap
we're also talking weighing 200 to 300 pounds less than an 818

Still don't think they'll take something like the Blue-R. Power is great - the ability to put that power down is what counts. The Blue R pulls 1.7g in 100mph sweepers because of its aero. It's still pulling 1.3-1.4g in tighter 60mph turns.

I'm not saying the Exocet stands no chance, I'm just saying they have some work cut out for them.
