Hi, I to am getting ready to purchase a build kit. Toss up between roadster and coupe. Am planning on attending build school in April. I want to take advantage of the 50-50 deal offered till 1-31-14. So will get kit first and then attend school. Any comments? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Either kit would be great, it just depends on what your personal tastes are. I built a roadster first and now want a coupe very badly (spending time around Karen and Tom will do that to anyone).

I agree. Will start with roadster and then coupe. Did have any big problems with the electrical on your build?

No. I used the Painless harness and just layed it over the chassis to decide how I wanted to run the wires. Some of the bundles were wrapped in electrical tape and with others I used the plastic split loom. Just take your time and it will make sense.

Thanks Doug. I believe I have the capability to do this. Will have time and space to proceed at my own pace. Been working in union trades all my career. Plant maintenance in steel, aluminum and paper industries. Grew up near Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wi. Has been a long time coming.

I too am new to the forum (sorry, not trying to hijack your thread!).

I don't have immediate plans for an FFR...yet. Once the wife and I buy a house (with a separate shop), THEN I can start looking at buying a new toy. Until then, I must live vicariously through the rest of you folks :(

x2 on that. I think the roadster would be the perfect build. Don't get me wrong. I love the coupe but I think you would fair much better starting off with the roadster.

Good luck, WEK.
