has anyone used a 427ci with the carb fuel injection upgrade with the small ecu? if so how well does it work and does it use OBD2 or 1 or none? i have restored a 67 mgb with twin SU's and currently own a 73 mgb with twin SU's so i know how to work on the carbs just fine and i can work on modern engines with OBD2 but i have never really been around the carb FI ungrade engines or the FI carb upgrades. can anyone shed some light..how well do you like it verses true carb.

hopefully people w/ various efi systems will reply. I am kind of like you in that, back in the day, I did a lot of SU and Weber work. But for the last 20 years I have been a Lexus tech so I am very familiar w/ current efi systems. I would like to try one of the carb looking efi units but they are a lot more expensive than my Quick Fuel ss650an. I have learned a ton about 4 barrels in the last year and have really enjoyed getting my carb tune improved. I already had an Innovate LM1 wide band O2 sensor/readout unit and have had it in the car for most of the last year. I guess you should probably include the cost of an LM2 (the current model) if you decide to go true carb because I don't think you can do anything well w/o it. And of course, add in the cost of some jets.

Give Gordon Levy from LevyRacing.com a call.

Here's a picture he posted on facebook of a small block 427 with a dual FAST EFI injection setup. I'm sure he can put together the right combination for you.

I have done it several times and it works great. I use and am a dealer for FAST. Here's a pic of a 427w we did with an experimental dual 4 EFI set up. This car runs unbelievably well. Give me a call if you want to talk about the system, 520-494-2745
