What are you guys using for auxiliary driving lights??
I have seen some cars with smaller lights installed in the lower front end opening. Today, I was watching some show on Velocity and saw a Cobra with fairly large driving lights mounted in the main front intake area. At first I thought it looked stupid, but then it kind of reminded me of the old mustangs that had the large driving lights mounted between the headlights in the grill area.
Let me know what you have done.

Hello,
I think the ones you refer to in the lower oil cooler opening are from a sponser Don Wright at Tangent. I bought a set from him along with some other products as I was going to use the nite light feature as daylight running lights. I plan on going with a set of halo headlights now and wire the LED's up like daylight running lights. I may or may not install the driving lights at all now.

I used 4" lights mounted on a crossbar. Works good.

These are the lights from Tangent already mentioned. (Similar picture as my avatar.) These are a couple years old on my Mk3. The ones he's selling now look the same when done, but are made slightly different. Will be installing on my Mk4 build as well. Many people comment about them. Don't know how much it really helps for lighting, but they look pretty cool.

I agree on the Tangent lights, I installed the on my MKII. Good quality, easy install and look cool.
Just wish it was warmer to take the car for a drive.

I'm assuming you made the crossbar... what are your attach points? I can't quite tell in the photo how far set back the lights are from the front of the opening.
Thanks,

Do you legally need daytime running lights?

Has anyone done the Tangent lights blacked out? I think they would look good with the grill black and smoked lenses on the lights.

Do you legally need daytime running lights?
You may want to check on that in Canada but not in the US

Hey, Guys and thanks for the good words - The grill/light kits are in stock and ready to ship - they come with a 55watt halogen main bulb and a 5watt bayonet style marker bulb which happens to be blue - easily changed out to a clear bulb for running as DRLs - The main halogens add quite a bit of extra light at night. Take a look at the kit here - http://tangentkits.com/Driving_Lights_and_Grill.php
All the best, Don

Hey, Edwardb !!! Excuse me for sticking my nose in here, but I have a couple of questions for you after peeking at your photo-bucket album. What are the two button or socket head bolts on the inside wall of the brake duct opening, and where did you find the cockpit cover ?? And Thks for posting pics of your great looking car. O
Bob.

Here are a few pics of the light bar installed on my MKII. This is version 1 of the Tangent bar (found a deal on ebay for $50). All pieces were powered coated flat black except for the front section of the grill. The main bar is bolted to the body with four bolts/washers. I mounted the switch next to my headlight switch and key. The pics were easy since I am installing a new FFR radiator and the car is up on jack stands. Enjoy and yes the paint has taken a beating especially from a few autocross cones. What can I say its a driver...

Poking around in my Photobucket huh? No problem. It's public and that's what it's for. The screws inside the brake duct opening are because it's a Mk3. That version (and earlier ones I'm pretty sure) had bolts there to hold the body, plus the ones on the side under the doors. The Mk4 eliminated both of these. The snapless cover is from Phil and Kay Deal. Don't know that I've seen Phil on this forum, but they're MARIAH over on the FFCars forum. Look them up and send a PM. Great people to deal with. Each is custom made for your car.
