Is anyone planing on using acid dyes on fabrics?

I am asking this cuz I can't remember but I think the donor I am close to buy has grey seat belts. Even if they are black, if I want to change the color of nylon I need acid dyes.

Has anyone done that before and if yes on what and did it work ok?
Apparently nylon can be dyed pretty easily, but it's possible the darker the color the less close to the dye color you'll get.

There are places you can just send your seat belts to and they will change out the webbing.
