I am almost finished "dieting" the wiring harness from my '02 WRX donor car to use in my 818. Refering to the wiring diagrams, it looks like the "Integrated Unit" module controls door switches and cabin lights. Anybody know for sure if I can delete this module and wires to source?

If I'm not mistaken, the Integrated Unit also controls brake lights and a few other items... I would double check the diagrams to make sure.

Hi tmoretta the info that I can help you with is for a 2004 STI, but I'm working in a 2004 WRX wiring and the integrated unit is exacly the same... Blue Plug

25274 this is my integrated unit and the numbers match a 2004 sti, by the way I do not have the credit for this info I got it on a subaru forum (IWSTI), good luck...

mxl seems to be correct. I don't see any issue deleting this plug as it appears to only control doors, interior lights, and other non essential functions.

Yes. Not exactly the same as mine - FE021. Looks like I don't need anything from the blue plug as all of those components have been removed, except maybe #3 the key lock solenoid. In the gray plug, I may have to maintain #10, 19 and 20. Probably easier just to mount the thing in my 818 just in case.

What exactly is wired into 10, 19, and 20 that makes you have to keep it?

Hello EODTech87, I'm a litle in tmoretta situation I'm not sure if the integrated unit can be totally deleted, in my case the dieted warness is going back to my WRX race car, will the car still start after removind 10/19 of the gray plug??? and I also need my rear defogger to work, back her temperatures can go to -30 and lots of snow... and I think the defogger won't work...

The car will still still start after removing pin 10 and 19 from the grey plug. I'm not sure on the rear defroster but worst case you could rewire it to bypass the module if need be.

Ignition switch and key warning.

The ignition switch lines that go to pin 10 and 19 are power coming from the switch to the Integrated Unit so removing them won't affect the ignition switch what so ever.

Removing the key warning wire might deactivate that feature but if you don't have the driver door open/close switch wired in as well then its probably not going to work anyways.

One thing I ran into with the Integrated Unit is pin number 14 on the Blue Plug is a Orange/White wire that is the ground for the dash lights and in order to keep these working I believe those wires will need to be wiring into another ground. I'm guessing it's wired like this to allow the integrated unit to turn off the lights after a set amount of time to keep the battery from running down if they are left on.
