Can any of my fellow Jerseyites tell me how to produce a MCO for a transmission I bought new off the shelf? They're not happy with just the receipt; am I missing something?

Thanks
Jim

Jim,

If you bought it new and not used, the receipt of purchase is your proof of purchase, no MCO needed (nor can you just produce one). Ask to speak with another person at the special titles division on State Street in Trenton.

That's what I thought..... This is why I was nervous about building in NJ. I'll keep you posted.

Jim, how did you make out? FWIW, mine was a rebuilt unit that I bought complete from Levy racing, NJ accepted the receipt as my proof of purchase for that unit without any issue.

Still waiting, they're closed today. it's so frustrating knowing I can't vent my frustrations at them because they have the power. I sent them pictures of the engine getting assembled with a white board with my name on it in front of the engine from over two years ago. I have to just wait it out; I think I'll be ok. When they see the amount of money I dumped into the car do they really think I'd use stolen parts?! I want to scream but I can't.....
So I'll steal your moniker...... Someday I Suppose :p

It'll happen just have to be patient.

I'm waiting 2 weeks for the info packet from Trenton that's supposed to cover kit car type registrations. I guess since I don't have the body off my MKIV yet I'm not in a rush, but I'm not looking forward to that aspect of getting the car on the road. Oh well... Like you say...someday I suppose!
