Hi,
Can people with near complete builds share pictures of your wheel wells? It seems that you can see inside especially around the rear wheels. Maybe the pics I have seen were cars that were missing wheel well panels or something... just curious. Are people painting the inside of the body. I recall discussions about roadster builders painting the inside of the body before doing any body work to help identify pin holes and to tone down the raw fiberglass look with black bed liner or other type of black paint.

I like the look of the 818 and it seems to be a more affordable entry point for a first time builder.

Thanks,
Doug

Welcome!

For the wheel wells yeah you got that on Erik Treves' thread (The Flash), near the last few pages.

I'm finishing up my roadster build and recently took the body off to undercoat it and finish the aluminum in the wheel-wells, with truck-bed liner.
Using Dupli-color (came highly recommended in the roadster forums). Bought a gallon to roll-on the body and a couple spray cans for the aluminum in the wheel-wells. I applied 3 coats to the entire body and an additional 2 coats to the top of the fenders (to avoid any rocks being slung from the tires and causing the fiberglass and paint the star on the finish). I sprayed 2 coats on the aluminum panels.
It looks great and is very durable.

The only concern I would have for the 818 builders is possibly darkening the exterior white gel-coat(?)
