Has anyone received their GRM calendar along with a note from FFR?
They say the soft top is coming by end of Feb, some more wheels, seat upgrades, a trunk storage compartment and Wilwood pedal box.
Anyone knows a bit more about the trunk and Wilwood box?

Jesper mentioned the trunk to me at the open house last year... no details
If you think about it w/o a box would they have developed a hinged cover?

I need to finalize my configuration pretty soon and am also interested in the pedal box. I want it on the floor, not hung.
If I get there first to discuss it I will let you know.

My guess is that pedal box will be of similar design as the rest of their cars..

If it's similar to this:

It will be hung.

For $600. Not sure *I* understand the benefits over OEM, for my use of it.

Xusia is correct.
I expect my 818R this friday, so have been collecting parts for the past couple of months. Since my engine will be run by Wayne's ECU, the drive-by-wire accelerator pedal stock on my 2006 donor won't work (and I'd rather have a cable-actuated throttle anyway). Then there's the issue of brake proportioning (since I won't be running ABS). This led to investigating Wilwood pedals to solve all of this, which the led to discussing the planned pedal box with FFR.
They will have a pedal box similar or identical to the hanging pedal group used on the Roadster. Though future chassis will have accommodations for both stock and Wilwood equipment, that's not the case for all chassis up to that point (including mine). In a few weeks, they will have mounting plates which can be sent to those who want to weld in the upgrade.
The time-consuming aspect of this, I anticipate, will be ideally positioning the plate. Maybe not.
Anyway, that's the deal with the brakes.
HTH.

Have fun on delivery day! The kit comes with a Wilwood BPV for use with the Subie MC, so you don't need the Wilwood cluster just for balancing.

Bill, which thread explains this? I wasn't aware if you plan on not running ABS (like me) it would be more complex to proportionate brakes.

It's not complex... as I mentioned, the kit comes with a Wilwood BPV (brake proportioning valve). The output of the Subaru Master Cylinder goes to the BPV (so you can dial down the front brakes) it then goes to a T-junction which splits and goes to the to the L/R flex lines. AFAIK, all the cars FFR has built use this config. The advantage of the balancing Wilwood pedal box over a BPV is that you don't lose pressure, so less pedal effort. However, even without the vacuum booster, the 818 is so light I don't think it's an issue.

Tnx for that wleehendrick.
Back on the paper FFR sent, I did not see any mention about the wiper system, but it seems a few people here said FFR confirmed that they are working on a wiper system using the OEM parts. Maye it wasn't worth mentioning or they were just listing a few of their upcoming upgrades. I do hope they are working on such wiper system to be release in 2014.
