Still at the damn planning stage and yet more questions!

I am confused about the Mk4 hood scoop. Some pictures I see rivets or screws, and other pics it has been seamlessly joined to the hood. The grey/yellow Sema car has visible screw. Is this an option or is up to me to try to glue/bondo/smooth to the hood?

Thanks
Ian

The Mk4 is a bolt on. Earlier Mk's were molded as part of the hood. The originals had bolted on scoops, so a bit more authentic. Perhaps they're a bit easier/cheaper to fabricate without the integrated scoop as well, but I don't know. If you want to bond it and blend in, your choice I guess. Some guys cut off the earlier Mk's and bolted them on. Go figure.

Earlier Mk4's the provided scoop is fiberglass. Mine (#7750) is. Later ones from what I understand are molded plastic. Not sure it makes a difference.

Mine (MK4 #8189) is molded plastic. Still not sure if I will use it or go to a fiberglass scoop.
