I am in the process of switching wheels on my roadster and I'm looking at the American Racing polished Cobra wheels. I would like the wheels to fit in my wheel wells the same as the ones that are on the car. here's the problem. American,it seems, only offers a 17 X 11 where the ones on my car are 17 X 10.5. The back space on my current wheels is 6.5 inches, offset is 28. What backspace and offset do I need to order on an 11" wheel to get the front of the wheel where it is now? Do I add or subtract a half inch to the backspace? I'm thinking a 6 inch backspace but I'm new at this and I don't want to screw it up. It would be a lot easier if American offered a 10.5 X 17. The front wheels are not an issue, they are 17 X 9.5 and I can match up the backspacing.
One other question. My car is equipped with Cobra R brakes. The front calipers have two open holes in each one that look like there should be a push in cover/cap? The word Cobra is on the caliper if that helps. No I didn't build the car, bought it used.
Thanks - Pat

speak to Richard Oben at North Race car.
He helped me greatly with a problem I was having with backspacing on front rims. He makes great rims that fit perfectly

Checked out their site. Are those Team III ? They are also in consideration. Thanks I will put them on my list, I've already driven the poor guy at Team III crazy. I thought the Bullit wheels on my car were Team III and we have been going back and forth for two weeks now only to find they are OE Wheels.

I'll second Richard Oben. He got me the exact setup I was looking for.
