Has anyone installed a Radar Detector in their MK4 or Laser Jammer that has pictures to share? I know Escort and Valentine V1 make several kits that are more "hidden" than the large detector on the windshield. If anyone here has specific locations and feedback I would appreciate it. These are completely legal in North Carolina for what it's worth.

I have a Bel unit. I used the hard wire kit and converted a blue warning light on the dash that matches the other lights (turn signal, etc) to LED. I haven't quite figured out the mount yet, so will be watching here for good ideas. I still have to route the wire. I am debating between coming up through the defroster or drilling a hole behing the mirror with a grommet. Either way the wire can be tucked away when not used.

I'm kicking around some ideas. Laser jammers seem to be a pain and will stick out, so I'm setting that problem aside for now. For the radar and laser portion, my current thinking is top part of the brake duct. Radar shouldn't be blocked by the grill and fiberglass; laser will have a smaller window, but if you hear laser, probably already too late. Don't like the receiver that far down low, but haven't had any brilliant ideas on hiding it.

Other thought was under the scoop, but don't t think there is enough room. Don't have it yet, but one of the options I'm thinking about mounting.

Then there's just the suction cup mount options….should be doing more building and a little less planning!

I talked to the Owner of Laser Interceptor yesterday after making the original post to get his feedback. They actually make a vertically mounted laser jammer that can be mounted in the area noted on the photograph I created below (Vertical Mount Near Headlight Is Ideal He Said). Here is the link to the "BMW" model they make that would be used on the MK4 vehicles http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_67

The Laser Interceptor costs more than a hefty ticket!

My Bel definetely saved me on a laser hit once. I came over an overpass and got a hit. I nailed the brakes and must have hauled it down before it locked on. The guy was standing right on the side of the road.
